Born in Sydney Australia educated in Architecture at Sydney University, RMIT Melbourne, Hobart School of Environmental Design. Taught in the Architectural faculties of Ahmadu Bello University Kano, Nigeria; Haifa Technion Israel; Sydney University Australia. Indyk has a great love of the landscape; of cultural diversity; and of the ‘genius locii’ of ‘place’. Indyk architects is often involved in projects that demand an openness and understanding of cooperation with communities and consultants alike.Indyk has worked with communities from diverse cultural backgrounds; 1980’s as consultant Architect for the Aboriginal Housing Company in Redfern Sydney , 1995-2001Warringah Council and Oxford Falls Community for the creation of Community Peace Park ; 1996-1998 working with Israeli and Palestinian architects students on cooperative planning design projects In 2000, her studio was selected do very controversial limited competition for the new Central Mosque in Nazareth.From 2007-2019 Indyk Architects worked extensively with AHL - Events Entertainment rebranding the Greater Union Cinemas into Event cinemas. Indyk has created large new cinema complexes in Queensland, Western Australia, and Sydney. During that period, Indyk's team also worked extensively on the QT Hotel brand on the flagship QT Sydney, QT Melbourne, QT Wellington in NZ and QT Perth completed May 2018. All projects in the hospitality/ commercial sector stopped during the Covid period.In 2020 Ebb Dunedin was developed for a private brand in NZ. Constructed during 2021 Covid in NZ.At present Indyk and team are working on various projects including a small multi residential project in Balmain and a new 25hrs hotel in Paddington Sydney.Indyk and her team have experience with consultants from associated fields- Landscape Architecture; Environmental + Sustainable Energy Engineering; Mechanical, Acoustic Engineering; Structural,Graphic Textile Designers and Artists. Keenly interested to steer the practice towards future Energy sustainable projects, apartment residential and bespoke private houses;. regional gallery/community art centre opportunities.Specialties: Community based projects; Hospitality and Hotel development; bespoke highly detailed Architectural works.
