I have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and I have several years of experience working as a transportation engineer within two well-known large companies in my country of origin. I love everything about civil engineering, but transportation is my specialty–I know lots about roads. I love being outside of the office, but I enjoy coming back to the office to carry out cost estimations as well.At the beginning of my career, I worked as a road designer where I used AutoCAD software as part of the design process to complete civil engineering designs. I also demonstrated my skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.After working as a road designer for a year, I was promoted to the position of assistant programme manager. This early promotion was due to my ability to work quickly, efficiently, and with a high level of quality. I work very hard and continually upgrade my knowledge and skills to contribute to the company. I enjoy learning new techniques and no challenge is too great. I am working as Traffic Planner TMP . I have the knowledge and training to design and create Traffic Management Plan (TMP), using Invarion Inc. (Rapid Plan) software to optimize traffic flow and minimize congestion. The strategies designed to safely mitigate the impact of construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, incident management and special events on roadways to maintain mobility and worker safety. The documentation of strategies is completed using a Traffic Management Plan. On a personal note, I am positive, friendly and flexible to adapt to different environments. I’m currently adapting to life in Metro Vancouver and loving it! To return to my engineering profession, I’m presently taking qualifications upgrading courses at BCIT(Architectural CAD, Civil 3D and Computer Construction Estimatg). In my free time, I like to read. I have also recently taken up bike riding and this has been a great way to get to know Metro Vancouver. I certainly do enjoy going out, either shopping or just hanging out with friends, and I love to travel. My communication skills in English, French and Arabic are an asset while travelling and in my work as a civil engineer.
