As Global Publications Lead Immunology at UCB, my primary objective is to drive the development, review, and approval of high-quality scientific publications. I ensure that all publications are ethically and transparently developed, aligning with industry standards and UCB's policies. My role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage customer interactions effectively and enhance our digital presence through impactful scientific communication.

As a Medical Strategic Lead, I developed and implemented comprehensive medical strategies, collaborated with diverse internal and external stakeholders, and enhanced digital capabilities on scientific platforms. I supported publications and congress activities, and managed the Risk Management Plan for Immunology. These efforts, focused on improving care for women with psoriasis and other chronic inflammatory diseases, advanced our medical initiatives and strengthened our scientific community knowledge at European level. This experience has given me a valuable European perspective, the capacity to work cross-functionally, and the ability to collaborate with different countries and perspectives, equipping me with the skills to drive impactful medical strategies in future roles.

As the Iberia Strategic Publication Lead, I worked cross-functionally with marketing, quality, regulatory and market access among other internal positions to add the medical perspective, value and impact on the brand strategic plans. This helped me to gain a comprehensive perspective across Spain and Portugal. This role has equipped me with valuable strategic, cross-functional, and regional/countries insights.

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Spain, I successfully launched Certolizumab pegol for rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriatic arthritis, significantly enhancing my local perspective and experience. I engaged with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), providing balanced product information and gaining actionable insights. Collaborating with a cross-functional team, I effectively managed KOL engagement plans and connected opinion leaders as advisors. I supported research and clinical trials, maintaining scientific expertise. Additionally, I provided scientific information and education, delivered presentations, and conducted medical training. This intensive collaboration with both external and internal stakeholders was pivotal to my professional growth.

As Clinical Research Associate, I coordinated with the ethics committee at HULP to ensure the rights, safety, and well-being of all trial subjects. I ensured that Case Report Forms (CRFs) and patient informed consents were consistent with Good Clinical Practice (GCP). My responsibilities included writing visit reports, filing and collating trial documentation, and monitoring the trial throughout its duration, including closing down the trial upon completion. I also archived study documentation and correspondence, and managed coordination and study monitoring. These experiences have equipped me with a strong foundation in clinical trial management and regulatory compliance, which are crucial for advancing in future roles within the clinical research and pharmaceutical industries.
