Inês Meireles is Lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Aveiro, with tenure awarded in 2015. She teaches courses in the area of hydraulics in Civil Engineering. Inês Meireles is the supervisor of MSc students in progress and was supervisor of several concluded MSc thesis (several in cooperation with Instituto Superior Técnico – University of Lisbon, the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering, the Aveiro water utility – AdRA, and the Portuguese Association for the Quality and Efficiency in Building Services - ANQIP. She is author of several scientific publications in the areas of water efficiency, hydraulic structures, fluid mechanics, fluvial hydraulics, and asset management of wastewater systems. Inês Meireles was an elected member of the board of directors of the Centre Region division of the Portuguese Water Resources Association (APRH) in 2014/2015 and 2016/2017 and of the fiscal board of ANQIP in 2015-2017, and acts as expert to the European Commission in the evaluation of Marie Sklodowska-Curie individual fellowship proposals since 2017. She is, also, invited member of the evaluation panel for the Fulbright Commission program in Portugal. She is the coordinator of the team from UA in the project WDS, POCI-01-0247-FEDER-047224 – R&D Enterprise (co-funded), supported by Portugal and the European Union through FEDER, COMPETE and Centro 2020, under Portugal 2020, and participates (or recently participated) in several other research projects.
