Bringing multiple environmental problems together in one solution to avoid dumping millions of tons of valuable raw materials. That is the core of the process that Asbeter has been developing since 2018 for the processing and upcycling of (asbestos) cement-containing construction and demolition materials. From roofing sheets and pipes containing asbestos to residual flows from concrete rubble: we produce a clean and active CO2-neutral calcium silicate slurry for the production of hybrid cement and geopolymers, among other things. With the verification by Det Norske Veritas of Asbeter's AC Minerals process, we have added a new standard worldwide, namely ZERO asbestos fibers in the end product. In June 2023 we received the End-of-waste status for our end products. With the support of financiers and investors who attach great importance to ESG criteria, we are going to complete the engineering and construction of a full-scale plant in Moerdijk. In 2025, the operation of Asbeter's AC Minerals Plant can then start for the supply of 124,000 tons of calcium silicate slurry (CSH with 50% dry matter) per year to the cement, concrete and paint industries.
