To date, neuroimaging studies have examined separately how we perceive others’ bodies and make inferences about traits. Extrastriate and fusiform body areas (EBA and FBA respectively) have been shown to respond to images of bodies, whereas the Theory-of-Mind (ToM) network is involved in making trait inferences. During my PhD, I gained expertise in conducting, analysing, and interpreting functional connectivity experiments designed to understand how multiple features of a person (e.g., thin and kind) are linked to form a holistic understanding of their identity. In Matlab, I programmed five separate fMRI experiments, one of which was part of an MSc project, and several behavioural experiments, functioning as pilot studies or undergraduate research projects.
