Nonprofit, public health and healthcare sector operations and implementation with over 25 years' experience in the field.

Oversee day-to-day operations of this rapidly growing health IT public/private venture that serves as the focal point for connecting health care across the state of New York, with the goal of improving health care for all through technology.

Provided training and one-on-one technical assistance to non-profits on a range of issues, including fiscal and government contract management, organizational and staff development, and performance outcome monitoring and evaluation. Provided back-office support services, from incubating new non-profits, to human resources, finance, accounting, purchasing, grants management and contracting services. Supported one non-profit client - New York eHealth Collaborative - in its growth from 3 staff to over 70, implemented policies and procedures, oversaw contracts management, fiscal and HR functions, successfully managed four new grants totaling over $100 million, reported financials to its Board. Our partnership with another client - School Food FOCUS, was so successful that it became a program of Public Health Solutions.

In the intensive seminar course "Grant and Contract Development and Administration", I offer a comprehensive overview of developing successful proposals, identifying funding sources, successful fundraising strategies, and administering awarded projects.

Established in 2006 as the training arm of Pathways to Independence, the SKILL Center provides free training and support to aspiring home care workers. In partnership with a licensed home care agency, the Center offers home health aide training and job placement to over 550 women with limited formal education and work experience each year. As the SKILL Center’s first Executive Director, rapidly established a solid reputation in workforce development for excellence in training and job placement. Created partnerships and linkages, quickly growing the program from 400 to nearly 600 trainees per year while simultaneously increasing support services. Oversaw development of marketing and fundraising materials including a website, established a database, and created strong internal fiscal and human resources policies and procedures. Launched the Center’s first private and corporate donor campaign, successfully raising over $150,000 to help support an annual budget of $1.7 million.

Conceived, obtained funding for, and succesfully implemented numerous programs. Oversaw public health programs, including New York's largest WIC program, which provides nutrition education and supplemental food to over 40,000 women, infants and children each year, ealry intervention service coordination, which connects young children with developmental delays to services, health insurance programs for low-income individuals, and numerous other initiatives.

Managed the evaluation of two federal demonstration grants targeting susbtance abuse prevention programming to Latino yourh and their families.
