Postcard Pal was born from combining the imaginations of myself, my sister in law (Stephanie Rose) and my two young daughters who helped dream up the initial Paco Parrot (Postcard Pal's main character), content design & everyday inspiration. Stephanie and I, being seasoned corporate business women and advocates for early education, launched into Postcard Pal with a vision to bring joy, connection and virtuous traits to kids through mail! In our amazing technology filled society, real world connections and the craft of communication can easily get lost. Postcard Pal provides that connection through a friendship with Paco Parrot and his magic of letter writing. We welcome others to join the adventure, allowing us to help children across the world connect, learn, grow and have fun with Paco Parrot at their side.

At Science Care my team was responsible for ensuring that all tissue donations are managed with the highest quality and that they are matched to the best educational or research opportunities possible, while managing a streamlined, precise workflow, for all of the pieces in between. It all comes down to two priorities, honoring the gift of tissue donation and providing exceptional service for the medical community.

I moved into this role full-time in 2018, following significant oversight throughout 2017-2018, while also overseeing clinical laboratory operations. This oversight began when I was asked to take over upfront billing practices for the revenue cycle team after a troubling downtrend in profitability. After analyzing reimbursement practices, I course corrected operations and increased revenue capture by a factor of 3.5. This shift ensured compliance with CMS, proper coding, improved claims quality and decreased denials.

Named VP of Lab Operations in 2016 after moving up through Caris Molecular Intelligence (CMI) Lab Operations, I led Histology, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Pathology, Molecular, Accessioning, Reporting Quality Control, Medical Coding and 110 employees. Streamlining operations, designing new programs/diagnostic products and securing new partnerships over 6 years, accomplishments include: ➡️ Increased revenue 275%➡️ Improved capacity from 50 to 160 patients/day➡️ Decreased cost per patient by 27% and eliminated downtime➡️ Accelerated testing turn-around time from 12 to 8 calendar days➡️ Carefully controlled quality and validated results➡️ New relationships with multiple Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies➡️ Redesigned hiring model and job profiles➡️ Rollout of new training programs, mentorship opportunities and improved employee engagement

After initial hire as a Project Manager, I was promoted within 2 months to a leadership role within Pharma Services and began developing deep relationships with pharmaceutical partners. Responsibilities included operations, negotiating contracts for oncology phase I-III clinical trials and employee development. Big wins included securing new contracts valued at up to $5M/year and saving $350K through reporting automation / streamlined purchasing practices.

Hired on a part-time basis while still in school, I was brought on full-time after graduation and promoted to CRA with full accountability for data management of phase I-III clinical research. This included keeping meticulous records and documentation of all regulatory affairs, protocols, practices and data. (This is the role where I first learned how much I love supporting “behind the scenes” clinical treatment and diagnostics.)
