As a project manager at NAC, I was initially responsible for managing a Horizon 2020 EU project called TEMARA, which involved the teaming between NAC and the Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) to help establish the NAC as a Centre of Excellence in aerospace R&I. I was also responsible for the management of NAC's aviation project proposals both at national and EU level. Furthermore, I was also involved in bringing new business to the agency, mainly in the form of UAS companies that wish to perform UAS flight testing from the Maltese Islands. I was also responsible for identifying new niche areas of research that may be of benefit at national and EU level. At NAC, I was exposed to various EU funding schemes such as H2020 Teaming and Twinning, ERDF, Interreg Italia Malta, Interreg Med, and Fusion. Besides EU projects, I was also involved in developing Malta’s new aviation policy as well as providing input towards the Airport Zone Strategy Plan aimed at increasing the efficiency of the airport to be ready to accept the forecasted expansion of the local aviation industry.

My duties at Baxter Healthcare included the development of 5 UK infusion sets which will be used in wards and operational theatres in the UK. The job involved a series of testing whose aim is to prove that the sets are safe and are able to perform their intended function when used. Currently testing is being carried out on 3 out of 5 total UK sets. Other duties that i had include the design history file remediation of drip chambers used in some of the UK sets. This involves identifying the requirements of the drip chambers and verifying whether testing has been carried out in the past to satisfy these requirements. Where no trace of testing is found, a protocol is issued wherein all the required testing is described in detail. Following the issuance of the protocol, testing is carried out on the drip chambers in order to make sure the drip chambers satisfy all the requirements.
