My PhD research focuses on the role of peasant movements and their participation in global policy processes within the UN Committee on World Food Security (CFS) via the Civil Society Mechanism (CSM). I analysed mainly two processes: the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the context of National Food Security (VGGTs) and the CSF Principles on Responsible Agricultural Investments (CFS-rai). With La vía Campesina as my focal point, I carried out research in CSM working groups, participated in multi-stakeholder negotiations and conducted over 150 interviews with different stakeholders during field work in West Africa and Southeast Asia.

o Facilitated dialogues and established effective partnerships between state and non-state actors engaged in the Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development and the preparation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development;o Supported the participation of non-state actors in global policy dialogues on food and agriculture, in particular support was provided to strengthen the capacities of rural Organisation to engage in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development;o Facilitated dialogue meetings between state and non-state actors at the UN headquarters in the framework of the NGO Working Group on World Food and Hunger;o Coordinated and facilitated policy-dialogue between UN staff, government officials and other members of the UN NGO working group on food and hunger at UN headquarters in New York;o Responsible for following the work of the Economic and Financial Committee of the UN General Assembly;o Responsible for updating a database and website statistics on global food security;o Responsible for publishing articles for the NGO website on civil society participation in the UN negotiations, the global food crisis and land ownership..

Researcher for the Network of Farmers’ and Agricultural Producers’ Organisation of West Africa (ROPPA) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Reseach and reviews of issues related to land conflicts related to land grabbing and the global food crisis in the Sahel region.

o Drafted policy papers, articles and newspaper articles on strategic responses to the global food crisis, women's empowerment, access to land and natural resources conflicts:o Developed strategies for resource mobilization for peer mentor and ‘training of trainers’ activities of youth organizations in the Global South; o Developed a training methodology, based on Paulo Freire’s experiential education theory and critical pedagogy, with the objective to empower youth and women' organizations to have a say in the decisions that shape their lives; o Drafted concept papers for capacity development interventions including training of trainers for youth participants to take part in global training platforms in Asia and Latin America;o Designed training programs for civil society organizations, and in particular, youth and peasants' organizations in the North Africa. This was based on a consultative process with various stakeholders, and in particular with youth organizations in Tunisia.
