I have set-up, managed and expanded Innovation Lab Thialf from 2016 untill now. Innovation Lab Thialf is the place where sport, business and science are united in scientific and innovative projects in order to enhance speed skating performance! With my background in sport science I am able to bridge the gap between science and practice leading to new coaching tools and insights in training and performance parameters.

As a sport scientist with an entrepreneurial mind, it is my goal to use the power of sport and science to connect people and enhance performance. I do this in the following roles:* Manager or advisor in the field of sports, science and innovation;* Sport scientist, with expertise in performance development* Public speaker/lecturer as scientific expert in speed skating.

Those athletes performing best during adulthood, were not necessarily the best at younger age. Therefore, the search for young talent should not only focus on current performance, but also on performance potential in adulthood. In my PhD-project I aim to develop a multidisciplinary model to estimate performance potential of talented speed skaters in the age spend of 12-18 years old, based on anthropometrical, physical, technical, tactical and psychological characteristics.
