Started in Italian NHS hospitals as consultant in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. Developed further into technical officer in emergency medical systems for the Regional Office for Europe of World Health Organization. Evolved the role into lecturer in disaster medicine and disaster education at university level, designing courses in emergency response and disaster relief. Co-founder of Research Centre in Emergency and Disaster Medicine at the Università del Piemonte Orientale.In March 2017 obtained the Italian "National Academic Qualification as Associate Professor" in the sector 06/L1 (Anesthesiology) and in January 2020 in the sector 06/N1 (Science of Healthcare Professions and Applied Medical Technologies). Moved from the Università del Piemonte Orientale where he established the Simulation Centre in Health Science (SIMNOVA) and holds its Scientific Director position until 2020, he is currently leading the Simulation Centre (CeSi) in the Centro Professionale Sociosanitario in Lugano, Switzerland. Lectured in many national and international scientific congresses and he is author of more than 60 research articles published in peer review journals [https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=ingrassia+p]. He is editor of the first simulation case book in Italian [https://www.francoangeli.it/Ricerca/Scheda_libro.aspx?id=23860]. He is the current Secretary of Society of Simulation in Europe (SESAM) and President-elect of the Italian Society of Medical Simulation (SIMMED).Having broad international experiences, he is a simulation enthusiast and he enjoys developing new training and research projects that encourage and promote innovation in healthcare and increase quality of care and patient safety.
