LCRP is a close collaboration between UHasselt and the 2 largest hospitals in Limburg (Jessa Hospital and Ziekenhuis Oost Limburg) to improve patient-oriented research in specific medical domains. My activities at UHasselt:- Coordination of the LCRP research activities in the Jessa Hospital- Guidance, supervision and (co-)promotor/jury member of PhD students and bachelor/master thesis students- Writing grant research proposals / research articles- Organizing symposia / workshops / infosessions- Active member of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) work group / VOKA Health Community / co-coordinator of the Mobile Health Unit (MHU)- Teaching at the faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences UHasselt (Courses: Immunology, Development of a research project proposal, GCP and Clinical Studies)

JESSA & WETENSCHAP is a research platform within the Jessa Hospital that brings all the Jessa scientific activities together, and this often in collaboration with external partners. Within this platform, we inform, advise, support, train and connect existing and new Jessa researchers.My activities at Jessa Hospital:- Development of a research platform ‘Jessa & Wetenschap’ - Coordination and daily management of Jessa & Wetenschap platform- Support of clinical studies- Setting up a (clinical trial) research center- Organizing and moderating symposia/workshops/infosessions related to scientific research- Networking and setting up research collaborations with external partners (pharmaceutical industry, universities, research organisations)- Jessa representative at external events concerning scientific research- Active member of Clinical trial registration financing – FAGG work group / KCE trials – study management work group

The IBD Leuven Research Group is a well-established group with an extensive track record in the field of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases. By conducting both translational and clinical research, the research team wants to advance knowledge about the pathogenesis and management of these diseases, to provide better patient care and ultimately to obtain a cure for the diseases. My activities at the IBD Leuven research group: - Co-promoter of 3 PhD fellows - Organization of the daily workflow- Budget management- Writing of project proposals and articles (research articles/reviews/letters)- Coordination of clinical trials- Member of Belgian Association for Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis (CCV), Crohn’s and Colitis Organization (ECCO), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA)- Collaborations with national and international contacts/universities - Performing my own research projects with a focus on transcriptomics in inflammatory bowel disease
