I lead the Scottish Sustainability team and the Sustainability Certification team at Max Fordham LLP. Our work covers a large range in services including Net Zero Carbon Consultancy, Decarbonisation plans, Soft Landings, Post Occupancy Evaluations (POE), Whole Life Carbon Assessments, Circular Economy guidance, Sustainability briefing workshops and planning guidance and a range of Sustainability Certification services including BREEAM, WELL NABERS.

As a Senior Sustainability Consultant I am involved in non-assessment work, such as Soft Landings, Net Zero Carbon Consultancy, Post Occupancy Evaluations (POE), energy audits, energy metering strategies, LZCT feasibility studies, sustainability briefing workshops and planning guidance. I'm also involved in fee bidding work for these sustainability services.BREEAM Manager; overseeing assessments undertaken by the Assessors within the practice. Provide guidance for all Assessors, train junior members, develop the processes and templates used, monitor progress and profitability of all jobs and involved in bidding for any new assessment work. Also personally carry out many BREEAM Assessments as an Assessor and Accredited Professional.

Carried out energy audits and energy reporting; identifying ways in which energy consumption could be reduced and efficiency increased. Also advised on techniques for generating energy on site and calculated reductions in Carbon Dioxide emissions and payback analysis.I also completed many BREEAM Assessments from Pre-Assessment to Post Construction Stage, providing guidance throughout as the BREEAM Assessor and Accredited Professional.

Assisted in the sustainability reporting for the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) and the Eco-Portfolio Analysis Service (EcoPAS) for all the UK and Overseas Portfolio.Helped to prepare the Standard Life Investments Annual Sustainability Report and Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) statements for each fund.Secondment was part time while still working at KJ Tait Engineers.

Assisted with research in the COSMIC (The Collaborative Optical Spectroscopy, Micromanipulation and Imaging Centre) department at the University of Edinburgh on a project funded by MARS
