Consulting Curator, "Constructivist Dialogues In The Cuban Vanguard"Galerie Lelong Jan 2016 - Jun 2016New York, Ny"Constructivist Dialogues in the Cuban Vanguard: Amelia Peláez, Loló Soldevilla & Zilia Sánchez" brings together three Cuban painters who engaged in geometric and constructivist practices from the 1930s to the present. These were women who not only forged careers in the arts, but were also leaders of their respective generations, benefiting, in part, from the support of the Lyceum women’s club gallery in Havana. Nevertheless, close study of their geometric approaches reveals aesthetic ties that go beyond gender, demonstrating links between generations previously thought to have little in common. The exhibition displays shared interests in geometrically organized compositions, as well as in architecture and space, and pattern and color. As consulting curator, Ingrid was responsible for the exhibition concept, procurement of artworks, installation, wall text and catalogue essay, and worked closely with gallery staff and director. The exhibition is open from April 28-June 24, 2016. -
