Ingrid R. Email and Phone Number
My love for science began with my computational chemistry research, where I had the opportunity to dive deeply into the early stages of drug discovery. This curiosity grew further during my internship at Merck, where I explored the entire drug discovery pipeline and was inspired to move beyond computational work to understand the experimental side of drug development. Since then, I’ve developed a strong interest in learning how to test drug responses at the in vitro level and in broadening my knowledge of animal and human studies.Additionally, through patent and technology commercialization workshops, I’ve gained insight into the importance of protecting innovations that transform scientific discoveries into products making a real-world impact on society and human health. This blend of scientific exploration and practical application fuels my drive to pursue a career where I can collaborate on a team to push science forward. Beyond my research, I find immense fulfillment in mentoring emerging scientists and engaging in outreach initiatives. As a leader within the UMN SACNAS chapter and other student-led groups on campus, I have organized and managed events that connect students with valuable resources and foster a supportive scientific community. I am dedicated to fostering inclusive environments where students can authentically express themselves, share their ideas, and ask questions freely. As time permits, I am always open to sharing my career path and discussing new opportunities, so please feel free to reach out!
