I am a highly competent medical technologist with extensive laboratory experience, a career spanning 30 years in biomedical technology and an abiding interest in teaching.One of my vital strengths in the lab is the meticulous attention I pay to detail and ethics. This has helped me to run a most efficient SANAS accredited clinical pathology laboratory for 13 years, delivering wide-ranging phlebotomy services for doctors and patients. I am exceptionally proud of the records achieved by the lab under my management. This included a record of zero non-conformances in two successive SANAS audits, as well as subsequent zero non-conformances during internal audits. Most labs have several non-conformances annually ,during internal as well as SANAS audits.I truly enjoy the diversity of tasks in a clinical laboratory, especially when I can apply the specialised knowledge acquired over the years in areas such as haematology, blood grouping, tissue typing, chemical pathology and serology testing. As lab manager I took great pleasure in leading a team of laboratory employees who demonstrated their commitment to the highest standards of service and productivity whilst observing specified turn-around times.I recently completed a B Tech degree and go out of my way to keep abreast with the latest medical and scientific developments.
