UNDERGRADUATE AND EARLY CAREERI have always been drawn to helping others so studying Psychology in college was natural choice. Upon graduation, I began my career in the mental health field, in various settings, including psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities, and community outreach programs.MASTERS OF COUNSELOR EDUCATION – SCHOOL COUNSELORAs a high school counselor, I worked in various capacities to support students, staff, and families through the school experience, a role that is as diverse as it is impactful.LIFE COACH – HEALTH AND WELLNESS COACH I have owned and operated my own coaching business, where I have:• Trained others in Reiki and provided healing treatments• Manage a wellness center offering weight loss programs, nutrition coaching, and weight loss medication to improve metabolic health and reduce chronic disease risks.• Lead group workshops, including stress management, personal growth book clubs, meditation, and journaling sessions, focusing on mindset, overcoming negative thought patterns, and breaking self-limiting beliefs.• Guided clients through mindset-shifting exercises and behavior-modifying strategies to improve interpersonal relationships, communication, and productivity, leading to increased sales revenue.REFLECTIONOver my 29 years as a professional helper, life presented challenges I could never have foreseen. The sudden loss of my husband two years ago tested every resource and strategy I had learned. These tools not only helped me heal but enabled me to guide my children through their reality with resilience and strength.This journey has shaped me into a more compassionate, driven, and insightful helper.
