As a camp counselor I work with students ages 5 to 13 who are enrolled in year round school. I facilitate games, belay, and help kids have a better appreciation for rock climbing and bouldering. I ensure campers stay safe and help them have the best experience possible at camp, by teaching them climbing technique and best practices for climbing in a gym. (March 2016 - Aug 2017)As a coach I work with TRC's youth team where we have climbers ages 8 to 16. Along with my fellow coaches I run workouts and facilitate climbing drills, while keeping the kids on task and motivated during practices. I will assist at tournaments and provide feedback and advice for improving skills and increasing strength for top rope and lead climbing as well as bouldering. (February 2017 - Aug 2017)

I manage the four permanent art collections at the PSU (The Appalachian Artists' Collection, the Leigh Lane Edwards Collection of Contemporary Art, the PSU Nature Photography Collection, and the Dave Robertson Collection) through cataloging, cleaning and maintenance, installation and promotion, as well as serving on the PSU Art Committee, which presides over the Looking Glass Gallery exhibitions and acquisitions of new works for the permanent collections.

I work with various tools, paint walls and pedestals, patch holes, set lighting, complete condition reports, and repackage art for shipments. I worked directly under the development director to help plan LEAF’s biggest fundraiser of the year, where I was in charge of the silent auction portion, but also worked on all aspects of the event. Additionally, I worked on grant research, member newsletters and postcards, and social media outreach. This experience taught me about working with a small non-profit and what goes into planning large-scale events. LEAF Community Arts is a non-profit organization that provides arts programming for youth in Buncombe County and in nine countries internationally, as well as hosts two annual music and arts festivals in Black Mountain, NC.

As a restaurant worker I worked in a fast paced environment with many other people in various positions. I worked as a hostess on busy weekend nights, seating people and clearing tables efficiently. On weekdays I worked the cash register, cleared tables, and handled carry out orders. I trained a number of new employees at the host station and carry out counter.
