Research Associate on the Neuroanatomy Team at the Allen Institute for Brain Science. Focused on investigating the neuroanatomical architecture of the brain at the population and single cell level and integrating across transcriptomics, patch-seq and whole brain morphology datasets to establish robust, high-dimensional definitions of cell types, brain regions, and circuits. Specializes in creation of 3D neuron reconstructions of human and nonhuman primate cells.

Expertise in identifying and outlining neuroanatomical structures, imaging of coronal brain sections, and cell quantification techniques. Technical skills:Transcardial perfusion and brain extraction, tissue extraction and preparation, microtome and cryostat sectioning, immunohistochemistry, mounting/slide preparation, fluorescence and confocal microscopy, laser capture microdissection, western blot, mouse and rat handling, and rodent stereotactic brain surgeries. Analytical skills acquired in position include: Adobe, QuPath cell quantification, Image J and Fiji, RStudio, and Prism. Extensive experience in western blot and immunohistochemistry quantitative analysis.

Undergraduate Researcher under Dr. Jarrad Scarlett and Dr. Nicole Richardson. Contributed to projects focused on elucidating the specific central neurocircuits, receptors, and intracellular signaling pathways that are targeted by central FGF1 therapy known to promote sustained glucose lowering in murine models of obesity and diabetes. Independent project focused on quantifying colocalization of endogenous expression of fibroblast growth factor 1 (FGF1) with neurons, astrocytes, and microglia in the hypothalamic nuclei.

Undergraduate researcher in the Theobald Lab at UW Department of Biology. Worked on a team of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduates to produce a manuscript analyzing the incorporation of humanization and ethics in the most frequently used introductory biology textbooks.
