• Conducted systematic review of impact evaluations of development interventions in low- and middle-income countries. Screened papers at the title- and abstract-level to check if they meet inclusion criteria. Results will be used to update Impact Evaluation Repository.

• Designed education and labor inclusion program to be implemented in 82 technical high schools in Mexico. Developed guidelines for informational and behavioral interventions, conducted power calculations, produced impact evaluation plan, and randomly selected a balanced sample at the school level.• Produced the process evaluation of a Mexican school-to-work transition pilot project. Coordinated with representatives of public entities, held interviews with implementing team and focus groups with beneficiaries, and analyzed data regarding performance of intervention. Results used to improve design of scale-up project.• Estimated the impact of length of exposure to the Mexican conditional cash transfer program on education and employment variables. Analyzed household data of the program’s original sample, randomly assigned to treatment at the locality level. Findings show the long-term positive effects of the intervention.

• Designed an intervention to enhance labor inclusion of low-income youth in Mexico. Produced a literature review of the use of nudges to change behavior, modified training materials, and designed SMS messages. Intervention was implemented as a pilot project in six Mexican localities.

• Conducted systematic review of impact evaluations of Science, Technology, Innovation and Partnerships projects in developing countries. Screened papers at the full-text level, categorized studies based on the intervention types and outcomes measured, and classified the methodologies. • Conducted research and analysis on electricity services in 26 countries from Latin America and the Caribbean. Gathered macro-economic indicators and information from countries’ regulatory agencies, and analyzed the performance and sustainability of the markets. • Developed a 5-year plan to increase labor productivity in Peru. Diagnosed health and education sectors, held meetings with stakeholders, reviewed international benchmarks and designed monitoring tool. • Led the performance and impact evaluation of an agricultural program funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency in Peruvian rural areas. Analyzed local agencies’ budgetary execution, interviewed personnel, held focus groups with beneficiaries, developed questionnaires, trained enumerators, supervised field data collection, carried out statistical analysis of datasets and estimated impacts using Difference-in-Differences technique. Presented findings to representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture and Economy.• Assessed the provision of water and sanitation services in urban and rural areas. Reviewed concession contracts, annual reports and users’ complaints, designed household survey, hold in-depth interviews with stakeholders and performed data analysis. Presented results in Peru and Colombia.• Participated in World Bank (WB)’s Poverty Dialogue in Paraguay. Provided logistical support to country office, assisted moderators conducting workshops, and systematized main problems and solutions prioritized by sanitation, health, education, labor and agriculture sectors. Final report used for planning of WB’s activities.

• Performed baseline study of a telecommunications program serving Peruvian isolated communities. Carried out statistical analysis of household data, estimated indicators of treatment and control groups identified using propensity score matching, and processed Delphi Survey. Outcomes used to calculate well-being improvements in intervention area. Available at http://www.fitel.gob.pe/archivos/FI50a15dc1199e7.pdf• Evaluated applicants’ pre-investment studies of rural electrification and road projects for Italian-Peruvian Countervalue Fund. Held focus groups with community leaders from Peruvian poorest district, and reviewed cost-benefit and sustainability analysis. One project was funded based on assessment.• Coordinated the design of logical frameworks for 18 of 26 Peruvian social protection programs. Prepared guidelines, trained public servants, and provided technical assistance to sanitation and labor national programs. Final products approved by programs’ Executive Directors, presented to Congress, and published by Prime Minister’s Office. Managed multidisciplinary team of external consultants, conducted socio-economic diagnosis, developed problem and objective analysis, formulated multiannual investment plans for sanitation, health, education, agriculture and transport sectors, and led validation processes.
