About Ingrid 緒茵 Tien

Hello! I am a fourth-year PhD candidate at UCLA under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Wood. My research interests include influencing the autism diagnostic system for female and gender diverse individuals as well as how autistic youth build positive social resilience and make friends, where I have employed both novel quantitative and qualitative methodology in a series of project spanning from >4,000 autistic youth to 24 one-on-one interviews. I additionally work as a project coordinator on a DoD funded community-based evidence based treatment trial for autistic youth and have published 8+ peer reviewed papers.I graduated as a psychology undergraduate at UCLA (Class of 2021, summer cum laude), where I completed a published and award-winning Honors Thesis and a series of experiments examining appearance anxiety, attention, and cognitive interference when learning via Zoom or other online learning platforms under the mentorship of Dr. Elizabeth Bjork.I am proud to have been a high school dropout and California community college transfer student.
