In 2021, I reached a turning point. After 6 years in data analysis, where I’d earned recognition, I realized it wasn’t something I could see myself doing long-term. I’d always been drawn to HR, especially the administrative side, even though I wasn’t entirely sure what their work entailed.I tried career coaching to figure things out and quickly realized I loved structure & routine-something I wasn't sure I could pursue in a career world where everyone is expected to thrive on no two days being the same. A few months later, I left my market research job and landed an HR Admin role at Nestlé. It felt like a perfect fit, but after 3 years, I hit a wall. The growth options were either management or another HR function, neither of which I was excited about.Then I stumbled upon the world of Virtual Assistance. It was a game-changer. I could grow in what I love without needing to climb the traditional corporate ladder. I found a community of successful assistants who add real value to businesses, and it just clicked for me.In July 2024, I launched my own VA business, drawing on my blend of experience in both the consultancy and administrative worlds. Nothing comes without its own set of challenges, but at least now I have something I genuinely look forward to building and growing.
