The LIFEvest Financial Literacy Residential Program provides a free weeklong stay on the UC Irvine campus, aiming to help first generation high school students learn about financial literacy principles, explore their career interests and create a high school plan, build a personal budget based on their desired career, and practice networking with professionals. The students also have the opportunity to visit two companies through the program. As a resident advisor, supervised 5 students, informing them of each day's schedule and the appropriate dress code and assisting them with their final presentations and through any first aid concerns. Also collaborated with 8 other resident advisors to oversee 40-45 students, communicating dorm rules, counting and guiding students through campus, and helping or redirecting students in the classroom or company visits. Lastly, engaged in nightly RA debriefs where we discussed problems we faced, strategies that worked, and ways to improve.
