Next generation sequencing data analysis

1. Responsible under academic direction for carrying out complex research projects, including the retrieval and integration of diverse types of biological data including genomic variation, transcriptomic, epigenomic, phylogenetic and functional information. 2. Use of high performance computing clusters and sophisticated computational tools, to perform analyses of diverse types of high throughput data. 3.Responsible for identifying and bringing online suitable methods for the analysis of complex and different datasets.4. Undertake extensive reading and literature review in appropriate fields, with particular reference to gene regulation, epigenomics and immunobiology, to enable the desirable modification of existing methods. 5.Manage the set up and maintenance of relational databases, ensuring correct data storage and fulfilment of data protection rules for genetic and patient protected information.6.Advise and train both undergraduate and post graduate students in the use of specific analytical systems and programming. Design, develop and deliver appropriate research protocols to facilitate student projects. 7.Advise senior staff on the forward planning of equipment or material needs for research within the group.8.Responsible for the monitoring of equipment and facilities within the group, reporting any defects through appropriate channels.
