Inna Hudaya is a feminist and human rights advocate with over 15 years of experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). She is widely recognized for her dedication to advancing access to safe abortion services and promoting sexual rights and reproductive justice.In 2007, she began her journey by founding askinna.com, a website providing essential information and counseling for Indonesian women seeking abortion services. The following year, she established Samsara, a feminist organization focusing on education and advocacy on SRHR, with a strong focus on safe abortion and empowering women to make informed decisions about their bodies and health.In 2014, Inna was named an Ashoka Fellow, a recognition that celebrates social entrepreneurs with innovative solutions to pressing societal challenges. This fellowship highlighted her pioneering work in expanding access to safe abortion information and services in Indonesia.Her research on self-managed medical abortion has been instrumental in demonstrating its safety and effectiveness. This work has provided valuable evidence supporting the global push for more accessible, autonomous reproductive health options for women, especially in restrictive contexts.In 2017, Inna became the first Indonesian woman to join the Human Rights Advocates Program at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University. This milestone reflects her leadership and dedication to advancing human rights, particularly in challenging environments.Her work has been featured in Cosmopolitan US and many other international media, and in 2016, she was named as one of BBC’s 100 Inspirational Indonesian Women for her unwavering commitment to advancing women’s health and rights.After many years of working closely with grassroots communities, Inna now serves as the Thematic Lead for the Autonomy, Decision, and Sexual Rights portfolio at Women’s Fund Asia. She finds this role deeply aligned with her core values and long-standing commitment to bodily autonomy and sexual rights.
