Innocent Eteng is the founder and managing editor of Prime Progress, the first multi-beat solutions-focused media outlet documenting how people are solving humanitarian, social and economic problems in Nigeria and Africa.Before starting Prime Progress, Innocent, a journalist fellow with the Center for Religion and Civic Culture, a research centre at the University of Southern California, worked full-time, part-time, and sometimes independently for several Nigerian and foreign media outlets. They include the Christian Science Monitor (US), Yes! Magazine (US), Business Day Media (Nigeria), TRT World (Turkey), Nigeria Health Watch, Bhekisisa (South Africa), Women's Media Centre (US), and Religion Unplugged (US).Besides his editorial work, Innocent trains and mentors younger writers (including over 200 student journalists) in constructive and solutions journalism. Some of his mentees have done rigorous and impactful reporting for local and foreign media, including Al Jazeera, the American Magazine, Amjambo Africa in the US, and Nigeria Health Watch.Innocent is an editor of editors who believes that one is only successful when he helps others succeed.
