Managing cross border operations and ensuring a smooth supply chain process from point of origin to point of destination.Main Responsibilities: • Management of all aspects associated with the fleet allocated to you (Driver queries, coordinating of break downs , tracking of vehicles , daily feedback to Operations manager• Booking trucks with multiple transport Companies (Sourcing for vehicles)• Booking appropriate trucks per client requirements (Super link; Taut/Triaxles, Reefer, step decks)• Solving client queries/challenges to ensure maximum satisfaction for all clients (Client Liaison)• Knowledge of commodities on all shipments per industry (Alcohol, Spices, Pharma, polymers, cleaning detergents)• Knowledge of handling humanitarian logistics shipments into Africa (Emergency WFP loads & USAID loads)• Tracking all outbound loads per transporter and updating various clients daily (Tracking)• Forecasting orders of all clients and planning for vehicles each month for a smooth supply chain.• Negotiating rates per load with various transport Companies.• Route planning and ensuring trucks are loaded as per route required.• Ensure transporters has required (Good In Transit) insurance before awarding loads• Investigating and providing solutions to border and or route challenges drivers might face (Customs issues related)• Receiving orders from main suppliers and selling loads to the respective transport companies (sales orientated)• Sourcing of loads from other adhoc suppliers to move across Africa to ensure the business keep making margins• Constant communication with responders, drivers, managers, client and supervisors• Transport broker.• Ensure clients are informed and kept up to date with loads.• Tracking loads to African countries.• Allocating load to different Transports companies. • Loads Planning and Scheduling on daily basis.• Sending Tracking reports to Clients daily, 3 times a day.

Experience:• Handling RFI's & RFP's on behalf of the Procurement Committee; Requesting for information & Proposals from Transport Companies• Compiling freight & security estimates for all road and air freight shipments to Southern, Eastern and Western African Countries on behalf of SCMS.• Compile billing once all shipments have been delivered to their respective destinations.• Understanding of the procedure to be followed prior exporting shipments across Africa (Tool Kit).• Handling and tracking of shipments across the supply chain, across Africa and Europe.• Weekly conference call reporting to clients regarding the status of shipments.• Monitoring service providers and ensuring they adhere to the agreed KPI’s.• Managing all service providers’ freight rates matrix, in depth analysis of current freight rates offered by service providers.• Sourcing and negotiating freight rates on behalf of internal parties for all ad-hoc requests; inter branch stock transfers.• Rates Analysis, comparisons and identifying trends amongst all air/road and ocean freight rates.• Approaching publication Companies to advertise to third party logistics companies for request for information on tenders (RFI's).• Calculating/determining the monthly road freight fuel surcharge rates on behalf of Imperial Health Sciences Kenya, South Africa and Ghana.• Forecasting orders placed against orders confirmed to determine the level of business and financial returns for the Company.• Conducting monthly meetings to discuss and preview the suppliers’ performance.• Proper understanding of inspection requirements for certain countries before shipments may be exported.• Organising and handling of destruction of waste through certified destruction Companies• Proper vetting of entries cut by customs.• Application and thorough understanding of Incoterms (International Commercial Terms).• Drafting of departmental standard operating procedures SOP’s and training to Management.
