Twenty years experience in non-profit and education (pubic, independent and post-secondary).Currently, I am the Director of People and Culture at Park People, a unique national non-profit that supports and mobilizes community park groups, community organizers, non-profits, park professionals and funders to activate the power of parks. My role is an opportunity to bring all of my organization development, strategic human resources, talent management, facilitation, and adult development skills together in service of organisations that are all about strengthening community. As well as being a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) and Certified Canadian Human Resources Professional (CHRP), I hold a Master of Science in Organization Development (MSOD) from the School of Public Affairs at American University in Washington DC.My public sector and non profit leadership roles, and experience holding political office at the municipal level (Trustee, Ward 22 - Scarborough East, Toronto District School Board), have given me a reputation for thoughtful deliberation, strategic planning and balanced decision-making as well as extensive human resources and org development experience at the highest levels of public education.I have a small but successful consulting practice that is known for fairness, discretion, and support and which relies entirely on word of mouth referrals. I provide support to the arts sector from grassroots collectives to large funders, as well as a variety of non profits and small to mid-sized businesses. This practice is the result of extensive experience working with public and non-profit organizations on governance, strategic planning, investigations, and skills development.
