As president of this company I routinely generate quotes for new projects and negotiate contracts with customers. I am also responsible for selecting and managing subcontractors and other vendors. Aside from the management tasks I am actively involved in designing state of the art electronic hardware and FPGAs.FPGAs include Xilinx, Altera, and Microsemi. (VHDL and/or direct schematic entry)

Architected, designed, fabricated, assembled and tested an entire processor/control system for an undersea Glider that is used by the U.S. Navy and others for scientific research.

Designing a Data Aggregation system for a CT client. The system will incorporate a high performance ARM Cortex processor running Linux. Information will be collected via dual USB channels are distributed over WiFi and/or ethernet.

Worked on an large Altera FPGA to be used in 3D TV viewing system that does not require the use of special optical glasses to see the 3D.Designed a high performance rendering PCB for the 3D TV viewing system. The PCB is able to input HDMI 1.4A or Vx1 video streams, render the data and drive a Vx1 output connection to a flat display panel. A subsequent revision to the PCB now includes a PSoC processor, a Kinetis K82 secure uC, Displayport input, HDMI input and USB-C alternate mode input.

Repackaged digital technology from larger WPR (wave propagation resistivity) tool into a different form factor for a smaller diameter tool. Also working on a design for an ultrasonic pulser to be used in a future product. This ultrasonic pulser will feature an ultrasonic transducer array, shaping amplifiers, filters ,etc. The analog echo is ultimately digitized and processed by an onboard DSP. The temperature requirements in the oil/gas drilling industry are in excess of 150C.

Designed asset tracking hardware for banking industry. The hardware included 3G cell phone technology, GPS circuitry and a Bluetooth communications link.

Designed the next generation of radiation detection hardware to be used in multiple platforms. The designs incorporate large complex FPGAs, high performance ADCs, and interface circuitry to custom analog ASICs. The processing hardware for the current product designs include ARM Cortex processors running embedded Linux firmware.

Designed a 16-bit ADC subsystem to be used in a mining application. The board interfaced to an existing ARM Cortex processor board. The board featured a 100x preamp, 5MSPS delta-sigma ADC with a built-in digital filter. My company also supplied sophisticated firmware to operate the ADC and processor board set. The design has been deployed to the customer and was installed on 16 data collection nodes.

As a Senior level consulting engineer I have designed a data acquisition system for the U.S. Navy. The system included a FPGA with a soft core Microblaze processor along with interfaces to various other onboard components. Also designed a multi-channel active filter board.

Designed various systems to test Zygo products. These designs included electronics design, software design, embedded firmware design, PC layout, PC board fabrication, PC board assembly, and packaging.

As a consulting engineer for this startup company I designed various telecommunications boards. The boards usually featured OC-12 or OC-48 level interfaces along with high speed bussing protocols. The circuit board layouts were very complex, most having 16-22 layers.
