I assess the needs, identify requirements, and develop cohesive projects that shape and support community engagement, community development, community building and community participation.The job involves creative thinking and developing networks that are collaborative, promote and stimulate local potential and develop meaningful relationships with the diverse communities that are Forth Ports neighbours and those that are part of their extended structure.

I developed the Attention to Logistics programme in partnership with the Tilbury on the Thames Trust and The Port of Tilbury, securing £750k of funding. The Programme has established a bursary scheme and created training facilities specifically targeted at the veteran community helping ex-servicemen, women and their families back into work in the logistics sector. The bursary and facilities will create tailored opportunities for veterans to develop their skills and potential. The Attention to Logistics programme will create improved pathways to new opportunities for veterans whose military service makes them well suited for a career in Logistics.

The Tilbury on the Thames Trust is governed by a board of 6 trustees drawn from the Port and the local community, bringing considerable expertise in skills and training, regeneration and local community knowledge to this project. This board has approved a vision statement which is to blend community and commercial uses at the Grade II* Cruise Terminal complex in Tilbury as part of a wider ambition to restore heritage, generate training opportunities and connect the Port of Tilbury to the communities of the Thames Gateway.

Pixelwork is a digital communications studio with expertise in web design & development, graphic design, 3D animation, motion graphics as well as strategic brand development in the offline and online world. My role as a director includes account and client management, liaising with our creative director and design team and an active hands-on role in creative decision making and ideas generation. I work directly with our clients in government and NGO's as well as local authorities as well as SME's and Blue Chips companies.

* Ensure that the SELEP Managing Director is informed of all meetings and that the SELEP team is given the opportunity to attend* Work with the incumbent Vice-Chair to provide the SELEP Team with clear and updated nominations for membership of the Strategic Board* Finalise local priorities and/or a vision for the federal area which is in line with the LEP’s Strategic Economic * Plan and the LEP’s approach to project prioritisation* Coordinate reports as required to the LEP Strategic and Accountability Boards and monitor and report on all LEP investments in the area* Champion the work of the LEP to local communities* Ensure the transparency and accountability of decisions and recommendations made at local level* Enable collective engagement with all local authority leaders within the Federal Area to ensure that there is a clear mandate for decision making on growth priorities and supporting collaboration and joint delivery at executive level* Ensure on-going local engagement with public and private sector partners to inform key decisions and set out how they will evidence effective engagement* Ensure that there is local engagement with and feedback to the general public about future strategy development and progress against delivery of the SEP (Strategic Economic Plan), including key projects and spend against those projects and that this can be evidenced* Work with the LEP to publish arrangements for developing, prioritising, appraising and approving projects, with a view to ensuring that a wide range of delivery partners can be involved
