I've been involved in online marketing since 1999 after co-founding a gourmet food company based on a product my grandmother made while I was growing up. In the early days it became apparent to me that you can generate a ton of highly targeted, relevant traffic by simply paying for it on a cost-per-click basis through an innovative website called GoTo.com. Shortly thereafter, I became quite interested in discovering new ways to monetize website traffic. Inevitably, I found myself being asked by business owners if I could share with them what I had learned.By accident, I ended up creating a full-service internet marketing agency and affiliate network named Pepperjam, which was recognized by Inc. Magazine for three consecutive years as one of the fastest growing privately-held companies in the United States. In 2009 Pepperjam was acquired by eBay Enterprise (NASDAQ - EBAY).I left Pepperjam in 2010 and founded an early stage technology investment firm called KBJ Capital. Of the 25 or so investments I've made since 2010 I've founded or cofounded seven (7) of the companies, including ReferLocal.com, APPEK Mobile Apps, French Girls App, Studio 16 South, Special Guest App, LSEO.com, and the Accelerator at Wilkes Barre. My portfolio has raised tens of millions of dollars in venture capital from top firms, including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Index Ventures, Google Ventures, Greylock Venture Partners, Slow Ventures, Precursor Ventures, and many others.My latest ventures include LSEO.com, SpecialGuestApp.com, and AcceleratorWB.com.
