We have developed a comprehensive training program to educate our Afghan Allies and facilitate their understanding of American cultural norms, taboos, and laws and how they differ from Afghanistan. A serious concern for us is that an ally might unwittingly violate our laws and face deportation for behavior they did not know was wrong.• Resume Building• Help to obtain a State issued ID Card / Drivers Licenses• We often partner with other organizations who specialize in facilitating providing Jobs / and skills• Some of the job training skills we have promoted for our Allies are app-based rideshare/food delivery (Lyft, Uber, DoorDash, & Postmates), commercial truck driving CDL, building maintenance, and Information Technology (IT)Training.

Community Relations OfficerInterpreting Freedom Foundation - Programs Aug 2018 - PresentCharlotte Metro• We seek to leverage the relationship with community-based organizations for our Allies to partner with to facilitate community service.• Community service helps strengthen community bonds with our Allies and allows them further opportunities to give back and build relationships and support structures within the community.• Afghan to Afghan peer Support• Connect newly arrived Allies with Afghan's that have already successfully navigated the transition process.• Operation Connect Vet• Connect Interpreters with the Military Units and U.S. Service Members they served with in Afghanistan.• Modern-day warriors need two things to survive, a battle buddy and a mission. This program provides our Interpreters and Service Members with both.• A new secondary effect of this program is that it might help some Interpreters and Service Members address matters of PTSD and reduce suicide rates among both groups.
