I’m a highly adaptable scientist with strong core in phytopathology and with great wetlab experience but also experience in field prospection and sample collection, particulary in the tropics. I have experience in every step of a project and know how to take it from paper to bench, from experimental design to data processing and results presentation. I have worked with a vast number of tropical and mediterranean crops in coordenation with interdisciplinary research teams. I prioritzed learning new tools of data processing and visualizations. Strong research professional with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD focused in Agricultural engineering/Phytopathology from School of Agriculture, University of Lisbon (Portugal), and paving a new route into Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. With a strong core in fundamental science and wetlab research applied to agriculture and phytopathology, I am searching for new opportunities to uplevel my career, inside and outside academic institutions. I’m looking for enthusiastic companies/research groups that are committed to agricultural research and knowledge transfer between institutions and local communities.My interests also expand outside scientific research/community, as I’m a aquascaper and reefer for more than 20 years. This personal interest connects naturally with my research skills. My curiosity, research, perseverance, and method have led me to domestic fish breeding and coral propagation, and of course, improving aquascaping. I enjoy testing new products and equipment. Therefore, I’m also open to adventure myself in this aquatic world if the opportunity comes.
