Associate Professor , AUTHIoanna G. Chouvarda received her Diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering (1993) and the Ph.D. (2002) in Medical Informatics all from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.), Greece.Her Ph.D. thesis was primarily focused on analysis of cardiac signals by means of time-frequency methods, entitled: "Time-Cardiac System Time-Frequency Analysis in microscopic and macroscopic level". She has been elected as Lecturer at the Lab of Medical Informatics in 2011, and as Assistant Professor in 2015, with tenure track in 2019. In 2020 she was elected as Associate Professor in Medical Informatics and Biomedical Data Analysis,Currently, she is working at the Lab of Computing, Medical Informatics and Biomedical-Imaging Technologies, A.U.Th., having R&D and educational duties. She is also involved in the EU research projects and proposals. Her research interests involve biomedical and bioinformatics signal processing, cardiac modelling, sleep modelling, ehealth and telemedicine applications, and medical information management systems . In her research, she has close cooperation with medical clinics and institutes, in Greece and abroad.Up to date, she has been involved in numerous R&D projects in the e-health sector, and several basic research studies, as well as the supervision of student projects. In addition, she has been lecturing at various undergraduate and graduate courses of A.U.Th. For several years she was also lecturer and at the Department of Informatics, the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki.Dr. Ioanna Chouvarda is Senior Member of the IEEE (EMBS, ComSoc and WIE) and the Technical Chamber of Greece. She is member of the EMBS and WIE Greek section board.Specialties: Biomedical Engineering and Medical Informatics, with emphasis in biomedical data analysis and modelling.
