Echocardiograph Technologist
CurrentLeverage passion for anatomy: recognize and assess pathologyExperienced evaluator: systolic and diastolic function, native and prosthetic valve structure and function (TAVR, Mitra Clip, etc.), atrial appendage and septal defect closure devices, coronary artery disease, Takotsubo, Amyloidosis, and Non-compaction cardiomyopathies, pericardial effusion, outflow tract obstruction, intracardiac shunts, cardiac masses (myxoma, thrombus), pre- and post- Cardiac CatheterizationPerform special procedures: research protocols, exercise stress echocardiograms for ischemia, pulmonary hypertension, and valvular disease severity; currently training in dobutamine stress echocardiogramsBe innovative: investigate abnormal anatomy via additional 2-D, color, M-mode, Pulse and Continuous wave doppler, including off-axis views Ensure optimal diagnostic results: deploy contrast agents in assessing wall motion, cardiac masses, valve gradients, vascular dissections, and intracardiac shunts Embrace new technologies: perform Strain Imaging of the left atrium, right and left ventricles, produce EF from 3D Heart Model Optimize images and doppler tracingsCommunicate compassionately: explain procedures to alleviate patient anxiety and gain cooperationEnsure patient and department safety: heed isolation precautions, don and doff PPE as required, disinfect equipment, high-level disinfection of transesophageal probesInstruments: Philips Epiq X, Affiniti, iE33, & CX-50
