I am currently studying Events and Festival Management at Queen Margaret University, in Edinburgh. In my second year of studying myself and my group got the opportunity to plan, organise and manage our very first event. This allowed me to test out my skills of being able to lead, communicate professionally and how to conduct myself in a meeting or via email. Most importantly it allowed me to expand my experience of teamwork, I am a firm believer in teamwork and collaboration. Maintaining a positive and enthusiastic demeanour created a supportive and inclusive environment, where every team member felt valued and motivated to perform their personal best and achieve our goals and objectives. Overall this experience challenged me and helped me identify what I need to work on in the future. Throughout my studies, I was given the opportunity to study abroad in Austin Texas. This experience in particular taught me to be more independent and how to communicate with others from different cultural backgrounds than just my own. I have experience in the hospitality industry as I worked as waitress in a restaurant for 4 years. It taught me a range of skills, such as: customer service and how to run a social media account.I previously worked in Vets Now for a year before starting my studies. This job has given me administrative skills, phone call etiquette and improved my problem solving skills in tense situations.I currently work as a receptionist in a Doctors Practice. Working there has given me the experience of crisis management, maintaining composure under pressure, calming distressed individuals and implementing effective solutions in emergency scenarios.
