President
CurrentAfter a year's stint as their Artistic Director, I was overjoyed when The Heywood Society, Peterhouse's resident drama society, asked me to step up as President. Given the seemingly persistent aftermath of the pandemic, it has been a particular baptism of fire battling various levels of bureaucracy to allow the escapism of student theatre to be a continuous presence within college, and for attempts to be made in the pursuit of its visibility (funding and availability willing) and its outreach in creating opportunities for the Petrean spirit of camaraderie and collaboration to manifest. My incumbency as president has been a particular highlight of my time in Cambridge, and to have experienced a tenure demanding the analytical and authoritative restraint of a lawyer, but the zeal and inspiration integral to the creativity that the Heywood Society nurtures, was a real honour.
