- Supervises rig safety by overseeing health, safety and environmental protectionsystems and programs and compliance with all applicable HSE laws and regulations.- Responsibilities include offshore implementation of Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Management System, support and advice to offshore team on all matters related to health, safety and environmental matters.- Leadership on HSE matters and establish good working relationships with offshore team.- Provide Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) advice for all offshore activities.· Supervise risk assessments for all areas of work and check that necessary safety precautionsare followed.- Administer Permit to Work system.· Provide advice to workforce on HSE practices and safe operating procedures and systems.· Carry out regular inspections of HSE equipment.· Deliver HSE equipment inspection reports to OIM/STP.· Train HODs on all Safety procedures to be applied.· Carry out HSE inductions for on boarding personnel.· Provide HSE input and advice at rig safety meetings and record concerns and actions.· Obtain necessary safety clearance for work to be carried out in accordance with safetyprocedures (e.g. work permit).· Explain visible and hidden hazards involved with jobs (safety/pre-job meetings).· Investigate and report near misses.· Take part in accident / incident / near miss investigations and ensure all associateddocumentation is completed.· Play an active role in review of safety reports and provide clear directions regarding minimumacceptable standards.· Monitor and review remedial action plans with OIM/STP to ensure appropriate actions aretaken in order to rectify defects / deficiencies.· Assist in development of Job Safety Analysis and review and comment JSAs performed byothers.· Organise and lead rig Safety training sessions as per Company Training Matrix.· Ensure subcontractors working on rig comply with Company HSE standards and providesupport as needed.
