About Ionut Iordachescu

I have over 20 years of IT and Leadership experience. I worked in various industries such as Internet Service Provider, Software Development, Media and Non-Governmental Organization.     New Sight company is providing outsourcing software development services. The company market is in Europe but its intentions are to go to the USA too.The biggest challenge we faced was to get our first clients. For that, we developed free projects so we proved that we can work together as a team and we can make it done. I learned to wear multiple hats during this initial phase of the company:- managing the company (administrative tasks)- promoting and selling outsourcing services- doing business analysis for projects- project management- coding using python/django and Javascript frameworks like VuejsEach lead represented a new challenge because clients demands are not the same. I learned how to listen and to look in detail for each request, how to became empathic with client business. Our projects are applications that have public users or internal ones and for that I became more aware about the User Experience. To make sure that the applications are easy to be used we collected feedbacks and implemented improvements.I also code Python/Django and Vuejs.     Let's Do It, Romania is one of the biggest social movements in Romania. In 10 years more than 1.9 million people joined our projects: - Cleanups. There were 6 national cleanup days. - Educational. We had local and national projects which aim to educate how to be eco friendly. Let's Do It, Romania! is a part of global movement Let's Do It, World!I learned how to work with volunteers, how to have multiple roles. The most valuable lesson I learned was "There is always a solution for a problem". Let's Do It, Romania! helped me break the fear of public speaking. Responsibilities/Achievements:- Coordinated the IT teams - Planned and Implemented the IT infrastructure to be used by 300 volunteers who organized projects. I integrated different tools like Slack, Google Drive, Asana or Trello.- IT Consultancy for Let's Do It, World! - Speaker at Let's Do It, World conferences in Tallinn, Estonia.- Speaker at TEDx Climate Change- Developed membership platform. It was used in 2018 for volunteers to register for cleanup action. More than 300.000 people registered through this platform. - Developed legal notification platform. The platform collects trash points added previously through different mobile applications. Then they are sent automatically to local authorities for cleanup. - Developed a gamification platform for Let's Get Green Project. At this project more than 520 schools were registered. Teachers, students and their parents participated in a contest for 6 months. - Organised a cleanup event with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. - Planned and Managed the 2018th National Cleanup Day. Around 300 people helped organising the project throughout Romania. On September 15th 2018 380.000 people joined together to cleanup Romania. - Hold motivational talks in companies like Nestle, Regina Maria, UIPath, Deutsche Bank, Mega Image, Adecco- Represented Let's Do It, Romania at European Parliament in front of Environmental Commission.

    I had an idea about a platform to be used by members of homeowners associations for managing home expenses: utilities, rents or to view different reports about water, electricity and heat consumptions. I knew that I could not do it alone so I convinced people around me to join the team and to build this platform. We did it. We had the first version and after that, we had a soft launch. Unfortunately we did not have many users in the first months as we expected. I spent money on ads and nothing happened. We had to close the business but I think the lesson I learned was that we should have gone directly to managers of each homeowner association. In this way, we would have real feedback from them and we could sell it better. For this project my responsibilities were:- Brand development- Business management- Designed and developed the platform using Python, Django and JS technologies- Installed and maintained web and database server
