Freelance Translator/Subtitler/Proofreader
I am native Spanish and Basque translator with 15 years of experience. Having studied cinema and cinema lighting, and having worked as Electrician and Gaffer for more than five years on different film productions in the UK, I have a strong cinema background. Therefore, I am very familiar with film terminology, e.g. screenplay terms or film production jargon. 15 years ago, I finished (with Distinction) an Audiovisual Translation MA at City University London. During these past years, I have worked with different companies of the field translating and subtitling documentaries, feature films, documentaries and TV series that have been broadcasted on streaming platforms and TV netwoks such as Netflix, BBC, Discovery MAX, CNBC, Filmin or MTV Spain. Since June 2013, I collaborate with the In-Edit and Moritz Feed Dog film festivals for whom I have subtitled into Spanish more than 60 music and fashion related documentaries. Also, in 2015 I began working as audiovisual translation Quality Controller and Verifier for Netflix.I consider myself a hardworking and reliable professional, and I am grateful for doing a job that I enjoy and which gives me the chance to learn a bit more every day.
