My interest in a career in medicine began when I was a young teenager. I spent time working in a family physician’s office on weekends, and found medicine to be an intimate career, where you really get to experience life with patients. I became more and more interested in women’s health throughout my training, which led me to the field of obstetrics and gynecology. It was during my residency that I found the complexities of Maternal-Fetal Medicine to not only be challenging but also stimulating. As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist, families give me the honor of helping guide and navigate their high risk pregnancies. It is a privilege to work with families during this time in their lives. While working as a physician full time, I realized the importance of a woman’s health and well-being in order to fully fulfill her new role as a mother.Pregnancy can be one of the most wonderful times in a woman’s life and can also be one of the most challenging. As an expert in lifestyle medicine (Diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine) and health coaching (training through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition), I’ve seen the need to address women’s health concerns before, during and post-pregnancy. Hence, I’d like to combine my knowledge and experience in helping women become the persons they can be, including becoming a mother. As a mother myself, I understand you.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician And Wellness CoachPerinatal Pathways Jan 2022 - PresentAs a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, I am trained to support women through the most complicated of pregnancies, however I do not meet them until they are already pregnant. This has always left me feeling like there is a piece to my care that is missing. If women who had health concerns prior to pregnancy could improve their health prior to conceiving, certainly they would have a safer, less complicated pregnancy. Women may also have experienced complications during their pregnancy that increase their risk of long term health complications. Working on improving their health and wellness after pregnancy may reduce those long term risks.Becoming a mother and motherhood is a journey. It’s a pathway worth walking especially when you are guided by someone who cares. -
