Ilia is the CEO & co-founder of Band, the smart operating system for B2B trade agreements, rebate tracking, and purchasing groups. Trillions of dollars a year flow between these businesses, yet these industries have been underserved by technology.Band's modular platform is designed to grow revenue and engagement by giving buyers, suppliers, and employees the modern tools they expect.Ilia also co-founded Blue Apron and served as CTO for over 7 years, helped define a new category and household name that grew through IPO to 1 million customers, 5,000 employees, and over $850 million in annual revenue. He built a 200-person engineering, product, design, IT, analytics, and data science organization producing custom e-commerce and supply chain software to manage Blue Apron’s three automated manufacturing and fulfillment centers. He also oversaw HR and Operations during separate 6-9 month periods. Previously, Ilia was a director and technical architect at Optaros in Boston, where he led Walmart.com to launch an innovative new platform for their Health category. He helped architect, build, and launch RueLaLa.com, a popular private-event retail site, and has built media and e-commerce platforms for CNN, PUMA, Turner Broadcasting, and Macy's. He holds a B.A. degree in Computer Science from Tufts University, serves on the New England Franchise Association Board and Tufts Computer Science External Advisory Board, and received the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year national award.
