I am currently working as an ESL teacher. I am responsible for creating students learning material and teaching at two preschools. Moving from higher education to early childhood development must be one of the greatest things I have done. Taking what I learned while teaching in higher education, implementing, and adapting some teaching and learning strategies has been a great joy. I worked as a lecturer for four years, in that role I formed part of a team which facilitates, designs and conducts outcome-based assessments. In addition, based on the need I moderate Out-come based assessments (Marketing, Adverting, Brand Management, Entrepreneurship, Personal Selling, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Consumer Behaviour). Currently, my most exciting writing that has been published is a co-authored article on Personalisation featured in the Brands & Branding, 21st edition, and a chapter for an Adverting1 textbook published by EDGE LEARNING MEDIA. I formed part of a team that frequently organized events that aim to give students an overview of the careers they are studying towards. The purpose of the events is to motive students to not only perform well academically but to also start actively looking for or start programs that will allow them to be better prepared for their careers and to take advantage of a relevant opportunity.I found a career in higher education to be overly exciting being that in this field we can provide students with the necessary educational foundation and exposure to help them create and build successful careers. Hence, in addition to lecturing, I made time to offer my students assistance in planning their careers, creating a Curriculum Vitae, job searches, presentation skills, and creating a personal brand based on how they currently perceive themselves relative to how they would like to be perceived throughout their career. With there being a lot of people going through high education and end up being unemployed, I firmly believe that focusing on both academic work and preparing students for the job market by actively involving them from early stages is part of holistic high education experience.
