Comparison of Lard vs. Primex High Fat Diet Effects on Insulin Resistance in Sprague-Dawley Rats• Served as Student-team leader for research group• Managed animal feeding, weights and diets• Analyzed raw data on insulin resistance and fat composition• Concluded lard based (saturated fat) high fat diet was more consistent than a Primex (partially hydrogenated unsaturated fat) high fat diet at producing insulin resistance, while Primex diet was shown to have a higher incidence of obesity.• Poster presentation: at CUNY Brooklyn College’s Science Day and Einstein in the City International Conference at CUNY City College
