Westcan is pumps parts and repair company located in Port Coquitlam, BC. We deal with pumps for all industries such as Oil and Gas, Pulp & Paper, Chemical Plants etc. My duties are as followed:-Designing of pump parts and assemblies from all industries.-Reverse Engineering using FARO Arm and complex measuring equipment-Calculating stack ups for pump assemblies to ensure perfect fit for type of pump being worked on-Calculation of appropriate tolerances, fits, surface finishes and materials-Constantly interacting with production, sales, machinist and clients to allow for maximum efficiency and persistency on all projects-Approving Engineering drawings for shop floor to be machined

This was a weekend class for the University of Toronto students whom had to machine a pneumatic single piston engine. I was one of the Instructors assigned to this class. My duties were:• Taught students how to operate Lathes and Mills• Taught students how to read and understand measuring tools• Test them at what they had learned throughout their class• Introduced them and trained them on basic tools required • Demonstrated operations such as facing, turning, drilling, reaming etc.• Ensured all students were trained in safe machining operations with safety equipment• To train the class in a safe manor on how to operate various machines• Help them understand gather information from engineering drawings• Appropriate material selection, calculations • Understanding on different types of cutting tools and which to use for job at hand• I had to give presentations to a small group of 4-6 students on their daily operations• I would provide a visual practice to allow them to see how the operation would proceed and be completed while being thorough on safety practices.

Machining Consultants has been a highly precision and skilled CNC Machine Shop for past 20 years, since 1993. We provide services in several areas such as prototype designing, Research and Development (R&D), and Production runs in small or large quantity batch parts on time to manufacturing industries. My responsibilities were:• Operated on CNC(Computer Numerical Control), uploading and running programs• Set fixtures for different operations on the CNC• Changing tools and tool setups on CNC• Surface grinding done to ±.0001 tolerances• Facing and turning down pieces to size• Polishing parts after heat treatment is done• Worked on assembly • Read and evaluated engineering drawings• Assisted in 3D designs • Ensured safety was being incorporated into everyday operations• Made sure all safety equipment was up to date and operational
