At present, Dec 2018, have @700 direct employees and have around 200 more in the sister companies; We reduced staff due to economic turmoil that started in Angola in 2015.Sistec was created in 1st July 1991 and is the split of Protecnica, Lda in 3 parts due to the un agreement between the Protecnica partners on how to drive the company in a open market and peace enviroment. Protécnica was the first NEW private company created in Angola after independence and I was one of the creators. Later on a 3rd partner joined the company. We had big sucess for the time and I established then relationships that lasts up to today. KonicaMinolta (the oldest Minolta distributor of the World...), Casio, Riso are some of them. At the time we had 4 areas or work. Office products, Computer products, Reprography to public, Military Telecomunications and on the last 3 years of the company, Mitsubishi cars. It was us who introduced the Mitsubishi cars into Angola ( when we started there was only one Pagero in all Angola ). We introduced in Angola the PC´s and the management Software made in Cobol which today would be called ERP/HR/CRM. At the time there were in all Angola only 7 Main frames. We changed the complet Computer cenario in Angola. At the time as well we started our own PC brand that for a while was market leader... P3, P4, P4P, P4S, P5, P6, P7 ... This were the models that we introduce in the sequence of NewBrain and Casio. Both brands stop making computers one because went bankrupt and the other because abandoned the PC production. P7 was a 386 server allready.The software made in 1981 is still the same in use of Sistec and many clients today. The software was changed from CP/M+Cobol to MS-DOS+Cobol to PC-DOS+Cobol to NetWare+Cobol to SQLWindows+Ethernet+Web today. BUT the "root" is still the same and is based on my personal experience from Book Keeping and auditing most of it got in my PW experience where I invented by own way of work ... I was unemployed ... So, I resume my salesman licence and start selling mainly to Government of Angola several products such as "Education products, Paper, Envelopes and other products to the State Purchasing Companies"At same time I augmented my service in the Book Keeping. Up to then I only used to assist Ex clients of PwC to whom I felt indirectly responsible. But with the free time now I accepted some more.

I was hired as controller of the company but as I got a working system where all my "book keeping" and "financials" were made in less than a day ( I invented this system while in PwC and used it in Abbott as well allthough in Abbott it was not easy as the system was Kalamazoo instead of RUF).So, I got envolved in "Importation of Goods, Warehouse control, Selling of all sort of communication systems". In the private sector Plessey assumed leader position on the PABX and phone system of the market in the country. In the private sector all proposals and sales were made by me and we detroned the marketed leaders which were ITT and Alcatel.I quit my job because the expatriated workers were winning 20 times more than me and I did not felt it was fair. I asked to be paid with same conditons, they did not, so, I quited. To replace me they "imported two men" and start using a lot of third part services. Plessey was sold to Centrel and Centrel sold to STE later. All of them are closed today. Show less

Even today I do not understand why the Headquarters decided to close the office. I was hired to be assistant/Deputy to the Controller of the Company, but soon our relationship went into rupture. Some of the accounting procedures that he want to use were not in accordance to what I thought should be the right way, and I left the company in 60 days. At the same time the HR policy of the company was not as good as I was hoping.

Salesman for Reproductions of famous pictures made by offset over canvas, door to door, working during the day while I was doing my Chartered accountant Course which was at night; For all time I was there I was month by month the best salesman of the month and in the last working month I got the premium for the “best salesman of the Year” which was a Leica Camera.

By first time I know what an TWB was ... Basically Terrestial Way bill ... My boss was agent of EVA, a transport company for goods and passengers and I was in charge for receiving the goods from clients and do the TWB´s ... Photographer on “dark chamber”, working on my free time while I was doing my Secondary School; I did something like 50.000 photos in the moment that the Government decided to make compulsory that all Angolan born people would need one Photo ID document. Each person had 4 ID pictures per photo. From controlling the ocasional staff during the crops to doing crops myself where my father obliged me to do exactly what the other workers do... 120kgs of coffee pick per day... Up to picking water from the Well to home and cleaning the house by mother´s orders ... At the time I did not find any fun on it but today I consider that as a strong learning process.
