Lead Data Network EngineerResponsibilities:- Support for operator data network;- Performing daily operational configuration of switches and routers;- Participation in network and service planning, reviews of solutions emanating from the design and implementation of their network part;- Network research to improve its performance and fault tolerance;- Troubleshooting, solving network-related problems and investigating their root causes;- Interaction with equipment manufacturers and suppliers regarding the operation of IP/MPLS network equipment.- Develop scripts (Perl, Python) to automate routine processes- Develop technical documentation- Planning hardware software updates- Planning the capacity of aggregation channels for routing and switching devices, configuring routers, switches and firewalls Cisco IOS and Juniper JUNOS.- Network monitoring: analyze network activity and network problems to detect and prevent errors (Zabbix, Nagios, Observium).- Implement network design changes/improvements to improve system availability and performance- Work with OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPLS, L2/L3 VPN (ipsec, pptp, xconnect).Key achievements:I developed a Perl script to automate the configuration of network equipment, reducing thisThus the setting time is from 1 hour to 5 minutes.I configured a backup server to automatically save the configuration of network equipment, which allows me to restore or replace network equipment with minimal time.Participated in repelling a DDOS attack in 2016. After this, together with the manufacturer, we developed protection methods and implemented them.I configured a Nagios, MRTG and Observium monitoring server for the network based on Linux Ubuntu, which allowed me to quickly respond to emergency situations on the network, as well as anticipate and prevent accidents, and prevent channel overload.
