In my fourth decade of practice, I focus on complex civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. I have successfully argued and won, high-stakes litigation before federal and state agencies, as well as achieved several precedent-setting results in a variety of cases in different areas of the law.Most recently, I was first chair in defending a government-sponsored entity in D.C. federal court against wrongful termination and related charges brought by an alleged whistleblower. My team and I obtained summary judgment for my client in District Court and then I argued and won again on appeal before the D.C. Circuit. In another recent case in D.C. federal court, I successfully brought a class action against The Social Security Administration recouping over $7 million dollars for deserving retirees. In that litigation, my team and I obtained a precedent-setting decision involving entitlement to attorney’s fees under the Social Security Act. I am currently litigating another putative class action against The Social Security Administration in federal District Court in Ohio.I am dedicated to resolving disputes in the most economical way possible, which does not always involve the traditional litigation process. As a result, I work diligently to help my clients avert and avoid litigation altogether and am regularly involved in private arbitration and mediation. In the event a claim cannot be resolved outside of court, I serve as a formidable advocate. I have represented corporations and individuals in matters involving complex breach of contract claims, class action lawsuits, fraud, misrepresentation and related tort claims, as well as in disputes involving telecommunications law, real property and zoning issues, non-competition contract clauses, theft of high-tech trade secrets, wrongful termination and conspiracy claims, internal investigations and allegations of false advertising.
