About Itamar Ravid

Distributed systems engineer with over a decade of experience in a wide range of technologies. Expert in building distributed and resilient stream processing services, microservice architectures and platforms such as Spark, Flink and Kafka Streams. Passionate about functional programming and experienced in training engineers and transitioning teams to use purely functional programming.Experienced with deploying and architecting cloud native applications on Kubernetes. I appreciate CI/CD workflows and the operability of systems I engineer. Also experienced in operating and programming against several datastores - SQL databases, NoSQL datastores, Kafka, Elasticsearch and others.Beyond all those, I am an avid open-source enthusiast. I maintain ZIO and ZIO Streams (https://github.com/zio/zio), a library for creating high performance concurrent applications in Scala using purely functional programming.
